Do’s: Change money from the local bank. Check price and bargain before you pay Always drink bottled water that is easily available everywhere in Vietnam. Eat in clean restaurant (not street vendors)Use anti-mosquito cream if you plan to spend a good amount of time in raining season in Vietnam (june-august).
USD and VND are most accepted in all big cities in Vietnam. VND is the most popular everywhere. Card payment only in common in big trading centers/stores/shops in Hanoi, Saigon, Hue, Danang and Hoian. Keep important documents in your hotel locker and carry photocopies of the same. Dress discreetly while entering temples and other religious places. Always be careful of the belongings you carry with you during your holiday. Take care of all your valuables. Never leave your bags unattended Keep silent and just smile with street –vendors if you don’t really intend to buy goods from them Don’ts: Don’t be rush as you cross the street, just go ahead slowly and keep looking left and right Never carry more money than you need when walking around the streets. Do not wear large amounts of jewellery. Don’t be worry about security, just be aware of your surroundings. Don’t wear indecent dresses. Never sleep or sit with the soles of your feet pointing towards the family altar when in someone’s house.
